First tech revolution of 2010 :Google phone


A new tablet computer from Apple. 4G wireless networks. Windows Mobile 7. The Google Nexus One phone.
All sorts of tech blogs — like Engadget — are awash with news and speculation about a Google Nexus One phone.



The new year has barely begun, and already the tech community is all aquiver with anticipation of new tech tools and upgrades expected to drop in 2010.

First and foremost, speculation about a new phone from Google is reaching a crescendo, with rumors circulating that this new phone will be unveiled tomorrow (Tuesday) during a press conference.

While Google hasn’t confirmed many of the rumors, although it has confirmed that a phone is being tested out by its employees.

But the blogosphere is rife with rumors of the so-called “iPhone killer” — and tech blog Engadget claims to have gotten hold of one of the Nexus One phones itself.

While we can’t confirm ourselves what will be revealed at tomorrow’s press conference, here’s what some of the blogs have been saying:

— Apparent photos of the phone from Engadget and other sites show that the phone is built by HTC, has a 3.7-inch screen, and a five megapixel camera.

— The Nexus One is expected to run version 2.1 of Google’s Android operating system.

— Gizmodo said leaked documents showed that the phone will cost more than $500 unlocked,or $180 with a two-year contract from T-Mobile.
